presidential debate a few days away, mitt romney will be preparing but not until after he and paul ryan stop in keystone state of ohio. and paul ryan will be in youngstown and both are hoping to capitalize from the momentum of the first presidential debate. speaking of momentum and check out the new cnn poll of polls, and you can see that mitt romney has a two-point lead over president obama this the national poll, but as far as in ohio where the president holds a three-point lead there now. >> 12 miles, 2 days at 2 miles per hour, and that pretty much sums up the space shuttle "endeavour's" final journey. it is inching along through the street s of los angeles to its home at the california science center. once there, it will go on display on october 30th. >>> h shocking allegations for a zumba instructor who is accused of running a prostitution ring in kennebunk, maine. they say that alexis wright had sek with dozens of men with her business partner, and she faces hundreds of counts of prostitution charges and both wright and her business partner have pleaded not guilty. >>> michael bloombe

. what did mitt romney do? he brought in paul ryan who has even less, if you could imagine that, foreign policy experience except maybe perhaps voting against tougher sanctions on iran while he was in congress. as far as that argument's concerned, i think it's rather debunked. i want to read to you very quickly a quote from mitt romney from that video with the 47%. this is his -- this is his foreign policy in a nutshell. so what do you do -- this is about peace in the middle east. you say you move things along the best way you can. you hope for some degree of stability. but you recognize this is an unsolved problem and we kick the ball down the field and hope ultimately somehow something will happen and resolve it. that's what mitt romney said on foreign policy behind closed doors. whatever he says today in a couple of hours, you got to juxtapose that to that quote in the video when he thought no one else was listening. >> john, one of mitt romney's problems is the only specifics he's given as to how his foreign policy differs from president obama is that he's going to talk tougher and s

of time in the buckeye state. that's perhaps why we saw governor romney and paul ryan reuniting last night in lancaster, ohio. big crowd down there, about 8,500 jammed into the town square. but there is some ground to be made up for this campaign. polls show that president obama is still holding a lead over governor romney in ohio. but those polls also show that the governor is closing in, within striking distance now of the president. speaking of the president, he also was in ohio this week and admitted publicly that he had a bad night out in denver for that first presidential debate. obviously a lot of republicans and democrats agreed with his assessment. the president said he was too polite and that voters can expect him to see him being a lot more active in the second debate up at hofstra university in new york. back here in ohio, paul ryan's got a big day here. he's got two stops in ohio, starting with this rally a little later this morning, and then he'll go up to minnesota before ending the night in wisconsin. he's expected to take sunday off the trail, little rest for the weary, if

have four more years like the last four. what america needs is a real recovery. only romney and ryan can provide that. host: when the president took office we were losing 800,000 jobs a month. since the president took office, we have 5.5 million additional jobs. truck about the automobile recovering, he saved the automobile industry and 1/88 jobs in the state are reflective of the auto industry. i worked the railroad 41 years. the guys and women working there, they're happy, jumping up and down because they have employment. one out of eight jobs are connected to the auto industry. not only that, the government at the time, strickland, and the president came to and youngstown, my area, and it one of the last steel companies in the area was given a $20 million stimulus amount that created a tremendous amount of jobs, particularly 1 mile from my area, it in an area of youngstown that's really struggling. so you see this incredible turnaround. he was hit with those 800,000 jobs per month. he created the 5.5 million. just recently are finding out the unemployment level was finally dropped

job tonight. that is to slow romney's momentum. he can do that by debating ryan to a draw. and also being more aggressive. make no mistake, this is going to be a precursor for what we'll see next tuesday. because aides for the president say he's going to have a lot more energy, be more aggressive. he watched the tape of the last video, he gets it and knows he has to come out differently. >> is there any danger that biden overcompensates, overlearns the lesson of the last debate? >> no question about it. but i think typically these kinds of debates usually are contested to a draw. i think that biden wants to be aggressive, could be overly aggressive, wants to focus on the 47%, wants to sort of draw out ryan in a way who is, after all, an architect in many ways, the conservative thought on budget, taxes and spending. >> all right, david gregory, chuck todd, thank you. we'll all be up late tonight, you can watch the vice presidential debate, 9:00 eastern, 6:00 pacific on nbc. >>> let's get to other stories making headlines this morning, for that we say good morning to natalie. >> good
